Doughboy's Obituary

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The gravesite was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

Praise God for Safety

We have much to be thankful especially for the way God's hand was upon Nikki, Brandon's Brigade's schools worker.

Yesterday, Saturday, Nikki was involved in a terrible car accident. As she was travelling down one of our high speed roads Her car hit the curb and guard rail and flipped her car on to its roof. As the roof crushed the windshield exploded throwing glass into Nikki's face. She skidded on the roof into the oncoming lane and was hit by another car.

The fire brigade arrived on the scene equipped to cut the occupants from the car. When they look inside they could not see anyone. Nikki had already climbed out of the window and was standing next to the car belonging to the people who hit her after her car flipped. The people said they had just arrived from Canada and were driving slow getting used to the roads. When they hit her car the impact was barely noticed.

We praise God for the way he protected Nikki. It seems like whenever we step out in Faith to serve God as Nikki is Satan comes after us to discourage or try to prevent us from being used by God.

Although the crash was so terrible there were no cuts or marks on Nikki's face where she was pelted by the broken glass. The only injuries she sustained were a few scrapes on her hand and a little soreness today. Our God is Mighty and we thank and praise Him for protecting Nikki.

Nikki's car is the one laying on its roof.

Please Join me in thanking God for His hand of protection.

Pastor Bob

TRY THIS!

Read this first, then click on the picture below.

If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see one color, pink. If you stare at the black + in the center, the moving dot turns to green. Now, concentrate on the black + in the center of the picture. After a short period of time, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see a green dot rotating if you're lucky! It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see.

Encouragement

So I thought that I would post something for a little bit of encouragement. As many people have been affected with death in the last few weeks, both in the church family, and with friends. Mr. Pat gave out a list of bible verses that he got from a nurse at the hospital from when Mrs. Laine was in the hospital. I thought that some of them were really cool. And I am going to try to put up a verse or two a week. This first verse comes from Jude 1:21. It says "Keeps yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life." So God has a plan for all of you and he is just waiting to pull you up into heaven to live with him for eternity. In Jeremiah 29:11 it says "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God knows exactly what will happen to you in your lifetime, however he uses you for other people. Mr. Pat also gave us a short poem called Come With Me.
God saw she was getting tired,
and a cure was not to be;
So he put His arms around her, and
whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched her
suffer, and saw her fade away;
Although we loved her dearly, we could
not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard
working hands to rest;
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best!

So just a little bit of encouragement for all of you out there that have lost someone you carried deeply for, remember they are with God and one day you will see them again.

Love always,
Heather a

Prayer Request from Wales

The following is from Pastor Bob in Wales
=====================
Dear Prayer Partners,
Following young Brandon's death and funeral service my heart has been heavy as to the meaning of this young boy's life and death. He was born to parents who were addicted to drugs and fed him drugs as well. The first two years of his life were a living hell. He was abused and neglected by his natural parents to the point where social services had to take him from them. He was put into foster care with David and Janet James who also legally adopted him. They loved him so much and did everything to try and make his life better, and it was.

However, as most of you know, David and Janet are atheists. There was no way for Brandon to ever here about Jesus at home. This is the case with most of the children in Wales. Brandon came to love God through myself and other Christian ministers being allowed to teach about God in the local schools. When Brandon became ill he asked to see Pastor Bob. God placed me in that school and then in Brandon's life to share His love with Brandon. Because of God's love Brandon is now with Him for eternity.

The reason I said all of that is to ask you to join me and others in prayer. I met with a group that God started in another valley about 40 miles from here. They have a rather extensive network of young people from all over the world who have joined together to work in the schools of that valley. They use sports and music to reach the children. They assist the teachers, work in the play grounds and build solid relationships with children and teachers alike.

Unlike the USA, the Christian message is still allowed to be taught in our schools in Wales. The generation between 15 and 45 have been almost completely lost and without God in these valleys. The culture and the mindset of the adults is totally against God. The only group that is still reachable are the children.
This is a God sized task. This is not something that I can do alone. Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Mk 10:27

I would ask if you would please pray with me in this matter. Ask your friends and prayer partners to join with you and pass the request on to others they know. I feel so strongly about this. I have no doubt that this is from God. Please pray that God will provide the workers to go full time into the schools with the gospel message. Pray that God will provide the training for these workers. Pray that God may show you your part in this. Pray that God will raise up young athletes to inspire the children for God.

If you are willing to join me in prayer for "Brandon's Brigade" please email me so I can be sure to keep you updated. Only God knows how long the schools will be open for this type of ministry.
In Christ's love and service,
Bob

Brandon's family still needs prayer!

As you all know Brandon James went to be with the Lord on Sunday. This morning his mother's mother (his grandmother) was taken into hospital with a stroke and a heart attack. Brandon's mom, Janet, is staying in hospital with her mom and will not leave. If her mother dies at this point God only knows what Janet will do.
Please pray!!!!
Thank you,
Bob

Brandon and Mrs. Joanne

Thank you all for your prayers. Brandon went to be with his Lord just before 7.00 this morning. Please keep his parents, David and Janet, in your prayers and pray for me that God will give me His message for the funeral. It will be the most difficult funeral I have ever had to do.
I need desperately to share the gospel with the people and his family. I need to do it in a way that will be comforting for them and also to give them a chance for hope in their future.
As I was with the family moments after he died there was great sorrow but there was also anger with God.
Please pray over the next few days that I will be able to minister to the family in a way that God will be able to draw them to Him.
Thank you again for your prayers.
In Christ,
Bob

Hello again,
Thank you again for your prayers. I have one more request for you.
When I returned from being with Brandon's family this morning, Joanne (my wife) was on the phone with her brother. Her dad was taken into hospital and he has been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. The scan revealed several cancerous lesions throughout his brain. Please keep Joanne, her brother, Wayne and her dad in your prays.
Thank you for your love, concern and prayer.
Bob

Retreats!

I hope you all had an AWESOME Christmas and New Years! We got a bunch of good stuff coming up including our annual spaghetti dinner, a snow tubing trip, and the Uncharted Conference in Baltimore! In fact, that's what I want to talk about right now...

Uncharted is going to be an awesome weekend in Baltimore! We'll be staying at the Sheraton at the inner harbor and then heading to Digital Harbor High School for the conference. Of course we won't be staying the whole time there because we'll be doing some service/mission work in the city as well. The cost is still being determined, but will probably be between $150 and $200 for the conference, hotel and food.

The second thing I want to talk about is our summer mission trip. This summer we will be going to Philadelphia, PA for MFuge. The dates are June 30 - July 5. The cost is $341 per person. More details on this will follow.

Why am I telling you all this at once? Well, I need to know if you're going! The deadlines for both of these is January 30. Talk to your parents and let me know as soon as possible whether you are going to one or both of these trips! We will have a parents meeting on January 16th so that your parents can get all the info they need!
